Who We Are


Established in 1984, Mills County Storehouse is a nonprofit food assistance organization serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity in Mills County, Iowa. Our work is grounded in dignity, reliable access to nutritious food, and strong community collaboration.

Community Collaboration

Mills County Storehouse maintains a strong working relationship with Mills County schools, churches and local service providers to identify and support individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

Through these partnerships, we:

• Coordinate referrals for pantry services and seasonal assistance

• Reduce duplication of services

• Responsibly distribute resources to households with demonstrated need

Organizational Capacity

Mills County Storehouse is a community-based nonprofit organization with the operational capacity and community partnerships necessary to deliver consistent, reliable food assistance throughout Mills County.

The organization is supported by a combination of volunteers, community donors, and local partnerships, allowing for efficient distribution of food and emergency resources. Through established relationships with Mills County schools, regional food providers, and local service agencies, Mills County Storehouse is able to identify needs, coordinate referrals, and responsibly steward resources to meet both ongoing and seasonal demand.

Mills County Storehouse operates as a 100% volunteer-run organization, supported by dedicated community members who manage day-to-day operations, program delivery, and seasonal initiatives.
